AEW’s Kyle Fletcher on His Relationship with Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita

Kyle Fletcher has been thriving under the mentorship of The Don Callis Family in AEW. However, recent events have cast doubt on his standing with the group, especially after his close friend Will Ospreay severed ties with Callis on the latest episode of “AEW Dynamite.” Before the fallout, Fletcher shared his thoughts on his connection with Callis during an interview with Renee Paquette.

“It’s interesting,” Fletcher remarked on AEW: Close Up. “I think everyone comes in with a preconceived idea of who he is, and at first, that idea holds up. But the more I work with him, the more he surprises me with things I wouldn’t expect him to say. Our relationship has really grown over time.”

Fletcher also spoke highly of his bond with fellow stablemate Konosuke Takeshita. “Me and Takeshita have a really good relationship. I first met him in 2020 at a U.K. indie show — I wrestled him one night and teamed with him the next. From that moment, I fell in love with his work. So, to now be in this family together feels pretty special.”

However, Fletcher’s loyalty to The Don Callis Family will face a challenge as he watches Ospreay defend his International Championship in a triple-threat match against Takeshita and Ricochet at WrestleDream this Saturday. Before joining Callis, Fletcher was a part of The United Empire, where he teamed with Ospreay and Mark Davis.

With shifting alliances and Ospreay’s departure from the group, Fletcher’s path within The Don Callis Family could take an interesting turn in the near future.
